Specifying Shilajit Powder

The powder is purified, not concentrated. Where a dose is built on fulvic acid, specify the extract; where the label names shilajit itself or the format is traditional, the powder is the right material.

Questions about Shilajit Powder

What is Shilajit Powder?

Shilajit Powder is purified shilajit (Asphaltum punjabianum), dried and milled to a free-flowing powder. It is not concentrated or standardised, so its fulvic acid content is reported at the natural level of each lot.

How does Shilajit Powder differ from Shilajit Extract?

Shilajit Powder is purified material at its natural composition, whereas Shilajit Extract is standardised to a defined fulvic acid level, such as 20%, 50% or 70%. Where a formulation is dosed on fulvic acid, the extract is usually the appropriate choice.

What quality parameters are important for Shilajit Powder?

Depending on the application, relevant parameters can include identity, purification, fulvic acid, moisture, particle size, microbiological quality and heavy metals. Lead, arsenic, cadmium and mercury are reported as figures by ICP-MS for every lot.

Can a specific mesh size or resin form be requested?

Yes. Particle size can be specified as part of the enquiry, and purified shilajit resin can be discussed where a semi-solid form is required, subject to the agreed specification and availability.

Can samples be supplied?

Yes. Samples can be arranged for evaluation and formulation trials, subject to availability. Shilajit is hygroscopic, so samples and bulk material should be kept sealed in cool, dry conditions.
